IV&V & Quality Engineering

Independent verification that systems do what they must — every release.

SIS provides objective, evidence-based verification and validation across the software lifecycle: requirements traceability, functional and integration testing, automation, performance, accessibility, and release-readiness reporting.

Overview

Independent verification that systems do what they must — every release.

Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) answers two questions with evidence: did we build the system right, and did we build the right system? It is our founding discipline. Our founder brings hands-on federal IV&V experience across API, database, and end-to-end testing for enterprise programs.

We focus on traceability and evidence — every requirement mapped to a test, every test mapped to a result, and every defect tied to risk — so program leaders can make go/no-go decisions with confidence.

Focus areas
  • Requirements verification & traceability
  • Functional, regression & smoke testing
  • API & interface testing
  • Database & data validation

SIS Automation Test Stack

A custom automation testing stack designed and built by our founder to test system interfaces and validate reports — reducing manual effort and producing repeatable, evidence-ready results.

  • Interface testingAutomated, data-driven execution of interface and API test cases with expected-vs-actual checks.
  • Report validationAutomated comparison of report outputs against source-of-truth database queries.
  • Regression comparisonSide-by-side comparison of baseline vs. modified outputs to catch unintended changes between releases.
  • Evidence & resultsConsolidated pass/fail results and artifacts ready for test reports and audit.
What's possible

Capabilities across IV&V & quality engineering.

The technical areas SIS can support, and what each makes possible for your mission.

CAPABILITY 01

Requirements verification & traceability

Requirements reviews for testability and ambiguity, bidirectional traceability matrices, and coverage analysis linking requirements, tests, and defects.

Mission applications

Where it makes a difference.

Representative ways organizations put these capabilities to work.

Modernization programs

Verify that a new system matches legacy behavior and data before cutover.

Data migrations

Prove record counts, values, and business rules survived the move.

Agile release trains

Embed testers and automation in sprints to keep quality continuous.

Integrated systems

Validate interfaces and data exchange between agencies, vendors, and platforms.

Accessibility compliance

Find and fix Section 508 issues before they reach the public.

Independent oversight

Give program offices an objective view of contractor-delivered quality.

Our approach

A disciplined path from need to outcome.

  1. 01

    Plan

Understand scope, risk, environments, and acceptance criteria; produce the test strategy.

  2. 02

    Trace

Map requirements to test cases and identify coverage gaps early.

  3. 03

    Execute

Run manual and automated tests across functional, integration, data, and performance layers.

  4. 04

    Report

Track defects to resolution with severity, risk, and evidence.

  5. 05

    Certify

Deliver a release-readiness recommendation backed by traceable results.

Questions

Frequently asked.

What makes IV&V different from regular QA?

Independence. IV&V is performed by a party separate from the development team, reporting objectively on whether the system meets requirements and mission needs — not just whether developers' tests pass.

Can you work alongside our existing test team or contractor?

Yes. IV&V can supplement, oversee, or audit existing testing, and can scale from a single embedded engineer to a dedicated team.

Do you only test, or can you build automation too?

Both. We design and build automation frameworks and hand them over with documentation so your team can maintain them.

What evidence do we receive?

Test plans, traceability matrices, executed test results, defect reports, metrics dashboards, and a written release-readiness recommendation.
